Who we are
Global Sports Zone is an editorial publication devoted to football news, analysis and reporting. Published by BLANEEL s.r.o., we cover domestic leagues, European competitions, academy development, transfers and the tactical dimensions of the game. Our correspondents work from a network of desks across Europe, filing in English for readers who follow the sport with curiosity and care.
The publication is edited by a small team of journalists and analysts: Laura Mercier, Claire Vasseur, Sophie Lambert and Mathieu Renard contribute regularly, alongside the wider Rédaction Global Sports Zone.
Editorial principles
We publish original reporting and analysis grounded in observable fact. Our priorities are accuracy, clarity and independence. We do not accept payment for coverage, and our editorial decisions are made solely by the newsroom.
Match results, transfer confirmations and disciplinary rulings are verified against official sources — league communiqués, club statements and governing-body records — before publication. Tactical analysis draws on match footage, publicly available statistics and the professional judgement of our analysts.
We distinguish clearly between confirmed fact and informed speculation. When reporting on transfers or managerial changes that have not been officially announced, we attribute information to sources and explain the degree of certainty.
How we check facts
Every article passes through an editorial review before publication. The process includes:
- Verification of names, scores, dates and competition details against primary sources;
- Cross-checking of statistical claims with recognised data providers;
- Review of tactical descriptions by a second analyst where appropriate;
- Confirmation that attributed information meets our sourcing standards.
We do not publish quotes attributed to named individuals unless those quotes have been confirmed through official channels or on-the-record interviews conducted by our staff. Unconfirmed information is attributed to sources such as "a source at the club" or "a person close to the matter".
Corrections
When we publish an error of fact, we correct it promptly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with the date of the amendment. Minor typographical errors may be corrected without a notice if the meaning of the article is unaffected.
